MONSTER JAM® TO DEBUT NEW SHOW AT BUBBA RACEWAY PARK IN OCALA

by Scott McAllister
(Palmetto, FL) MONSTER JAM®, the world’s largest specialized motor sports live event tour playing to over 5 million fans annually and televised on FOX Sports 1, will debut an all-new event format at the tour’s return to Ocala and Bubba Raceway Park on Friday, Saturday and Sunday April 17th – 19th. Looking to continue its explosive growth and attendance, Monster Jam drives into the Ocala / Gainesville market following record setting sold out 2015 events inside Florida’s major stadium venues including Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium, Orlando’s Citrus Bowl Stadium, and Jacksonville’s EverBank Field. 1,500-horsepower, 10,000-pound Monster Jam Trucks will headline the Bubba Raceway Park event, but will compete in a new and never before seen format and competition. For the first time, 8 Monster Jam trucks will compete in Ocala (previous shows featured 6 trucks), with the monster trucks split into 2 teams creating a team versus team competition format. Never before and maybe never again, Team Grave Digger will feature FOUR Grave Digger team trucks including Grave Digger The Legend, Son Uva Digger, Grave Digger, and a to be announced 4th Grave Digger team truck. The four-truck Grave Digger team will face off against a team of Monster Jam’s bad boys including Mohawk Warrior, Monster Mutt Rottweiler, Metal Mulisha, and Dooms Day. Fans will be thrilled by eight of the biggest names on the Monster Jam World Tour, with 7 of these 8 trucks having never before appeared in Ocala. Equally as… read more

10-5-13. Ocala, FL- The Bubba Army Limited Sprints, Limited late Models, Hobby Stocks, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks, and TQ Late Models all put on a fantastic show to start off September. Also, don't forget that we have a 32" TV being raffled off courtesy of BendinRulesEmporium.com and all proceeds will go the family of PJ Wiggins on the night of October 19th which is the PJ Wiggins Memorial.

Limited Late Models started the action off with Tyler Clem opening the gap up from pole. Richard Ferry would give chase, but a little past halfway he found his racecar slowing and would retire with that. Clem would continue to open the gap and eventually beat Shane Koperda by over 17 seconds. Ricky Land would round out the podium with Chuck Jackson and Ferry the top five.

Brian Hansford opened up with the lead in the Hobby Stocks, but Tim Powers was hunting him down and had Mike Stalnaker with him. At the halfway point Heath Walker looped his #55 and left Hansford to fend off Powers and Stalnaker. On the restart Hansford didn't fire and Powers made contact that sent the #2 around. Stalnaker, Joey Forsyth, and Wally Schneider were involved as well and the #57 of Schneider would retire as the right rear wheel fell off. Hansford would retire from the event (and was the caution causer anyway) leaving Powers, Stalnaker, and points leader Devin Walker up front. As lapped traffic came into play, Mike Stalnaker set up his move. As the front two entered turn one, Stalnaker used the lapped traffic of Donnie Reed and Dave Arivett to get around Tim Powers and grab the win. Devin Walker, Ray Ethridge, and Heath Walker completed the top five.

John Hopke opened up the TQ Late Models, but on lap five Don Strosahl, Jr. stole the lead. On lap 12, John Hopke and Terry Wright made contact that sent Hopke reeling. Both would restart at the tail leaving Don Strosahl, Jr., David Rader, and Scott Gray up front. Strosahl would hold on for the win with Rader, Wright, John Hopke, and Jerry Heflin the top five.

The Bubba Army Limited Sprints kicked it off with AJ Maddox pulling away from the field. On lap 16, Danny Martin, Jr. made contact with the lapped car of Otto Scrape and the caution would fly. Maddox, Martin, and Tyler Godwin would bring them back to life. Martin and Godwin would struggle with the damage and left Maddox to ease to victory. "Perennial Bridesmaid" Robbie Smith would finish in his usual spot over Godwin, Martin, and Mark Ruel, Jr.

The 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks finished the night with Jonathan Appleby opening up the gap and never looking back. With five laps remaining the caution was brought out by Buddy Pope and Kevin Hansford, leaving Appleby to stave off William Gillam and Tony Campbell. Gillam and Campbell would make contact and ended Campbell's night and put Gillam at the back. Appleby held on to win, Brandon Elwood cut the championship lead down with a hard fought runner-up finish. Jason gamble unraveled the #33 on the final lap and fell to third. Melvin Fockler and Kevin Handsford rounded out the top five.

Next week the Late Models return as well as the Scorpion Racing Products UMP Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks, and Rent-N-Roll Gladiators. For more info, please visit www.bubbaracewaypark.com or call us at 352-622-9400.
