The World of Outlaws Late Models and the Florida Mini Sprints battled on the clay and 1 had a caution free event.

The Florida Mini Sprints went 20 green flag laps with Andy Detton leading the way. Tyler Ross, Jim Young, and Eddie Moss, Jr. were not far behind and on lap 12 Ross passed Detton for the lead. Young would DNF and Detton would free fall to 5th by the end. Moss made Ross work but Moss couldn't keep the 8 close enough. Tyler Ross took the win with Moss, Gavin Thomas, Jesse Teed, and Detton completing the top 5.

A 50 lap battle to determine who would get a win and $10,000 to take home. Darrell Lanigan started the night off by running a 13.938 in qualifying. He would start outside pole with Josh Richards on his 2nd consecutive pole. The first 15 were green before Ron Davies made contact with the turn 2 wall. This caution allowed the World of Outlaws to use their version of the "Lucky Dog" by awarding the Outlaw Pardon to John Lobb. Lanigan led with Billy Moyer, a free falling Richards, Jason Feger, and Shane Clanton behind. As the half way lap approached Richards struck and took the lead from Lanigan. On lap 32 local hero Ivedent Lloyd, Jr. watched smoke pour from the rear of the 81 machine as his night ended. Just 4 laps later Davies found himself half under Don Stone to bring the 3rd yellow out. On lap 40 Shane Clanton touched the wall and blew a tire which ended a great run for the 2nd place driver. The final 10 laps were Lanigan vs. Richards. Lanigan never inched ahead but came mighty close. As the 2 to go sign was shown Lanigan made a tiny error which allowed Richards to put breathing room between the 2. Driver #1 took his first of the year with Lanigan 2nd for the first time ever at Bubba Raceway Park. Bub McCool completed the podium. Billy Moyer and Mike Moclar finished the top 5.

The final night for the WoO and the FMSA will top them all and you won't want to miss it! Qualifying begins at 6!

by BRP Media
Max Blair of Centerville, PA celebrates his NeSmith Late Model win on Thursday night in the Rock Auto.com Winternationals at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL driving the R&J Poultry Rocket. With a win and third-place showing in the first two nights of racing, Blair leads the NeSmith Late Model point standings. (PhotosByTrace.com)OCALA, FL – Max Blair of Centerville, PA had to outrun the competition and a leaking right-rear tire to win the 50-lap main event on Thursday night for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series in the Rock Auto.com Winternationals at Bubba Raceway Park. Blair drove the R&J Poultry Rocket to the $2,500 win and the NeSmith Late Model point lead. “During a caution period on lap 20, my dad gave me a signal that my right-rear tire was going down,” Blair said. “I worked the car back and forth, and it felt fine, so I just kept going. I was really sweating it out in the last laps of the race because I could really feel it going away, but it stayed up until right after I took the checkered flag.” Blair started out the evening by taking fast time honors with a lap around Bubba Raceway Park in 15.947 seconds to earn the pole position for the main event. Blair took the lead at the start of the race, but he had plenty of company throughout the race. The first nine laps were led by Blair, and then he decided to go to the outside to negotiate around the cars on the tail of the lead lap. That opened up the inside groove for Walker Arthur of Forest, VA, who got… read more
