The Amsoil V-8 Thunderstocks have had 2 weeks to rebuild and a good one will be in store. Eddie Tillander put Jason Gamble in his cars for 2011 and the reward is 3 wins and a 17 point lead over winless driver Brian Shea. Both have been threats the last few weeks and it would be no surprise to see them in victory lane. Another 5 back is Chad Scranton. Scranton has 4 wins and wouldn't mind taking #5 and some valuable points with it. Vaughn Woodall and Jonathan Gillette are tied for 4th, just 1 behind Scranton. Woodall has 1 win from last season, but both are looking for their first celebrations in victory lane and either could do it at any given time. The last in the 6-man battle for the title is Gordon Cade. Cade, team-mate of Shea, seeks for win #1 on dirt and a win could carry him closer to the lead. Chris Watson, John Thorpe, Jonathan Appleby, and Tim Mathieu are all winless in 2011 but have come close a few times. It's been spins and crashes that have taken them out, but all 4 could take a well deserved win at any time. Jason Blackmer is outside the top 10 but he has a win while Chris Shea has 2. Don Stroshal, Jr. is 2-for-4 in 2011 and these 3 could win on any given night.
Gladiators driver Steve Cox has close to a 1 race lead on the field. Cox, with 7 wins, needs to double that amount to hold the Bubba Raceway Park season record. Reid Christensen finally broke out of his bad luck and took career win #1 last time out. Christensen got to celebrate, but near the front was driver #3 Brandon Haseleu. Haseleu has been close several times but hasn't closed the deal, but his turn is right around the corner. Richard Todd is top rookie and holds 4th by a few points. Todd has improved every week as has 5th place Jerry Taylor. Taylor, however, is locked in a tight battle with Stephen Frankland. Frankland missed the first 4 races of the season but has been up front since. "Frankie" has locked in on the top 5 and won't settle for less. Steve Johnson is 7th and with some wins could move up the charts, but he knows that he has a friend in championship competition. Johnson, however, won't back down. Kody Fisher and Matt Kramer battle each other hard every week and have swapped points positions every week, but Kody holds the advantage right now. In 10th is Robert Graham. He's come close on more than 1 occasion and will battle again, but wants to close the deal and gain some spots. Jonathan Green, Scott Sullivan, Sammy Dale, and Casey Feaster all have wins earlier this season and could strike again at any time.
David Pleaugh holds a 15 point lead over Chris Pacetti in the Florida Mini Sprints Association battle. Pacetti took the checkers last time at Bubba Raceway Park but was later disqualified. Pleaugh, as well as Gavin Thomas, Jesse Teed, and 3rd place Justin Kolves, are winners in 2011 at Bubba Raceway Park. Kolves is only 66 back. Dirk Miller is 100 points back in 4th and Eddie Moss, Jr. is 196 points out of 1st. Anytime the FMSA is at Bubba Raceway Park the points will shuffle every lap and the winners will too.
