Going 3rd was the UMP Open-Wheel Modifieds and a lap 1 spin by Scott Mooers, Joe Watson, and Ronald Schron slowed the field for the first time. On the restart, David Moheng, Steve Whitener, Ronald Schron, Chris Northrup, and Scott Mooers wrecked in turn 4 and once again slowed the field with Jeff Mathews, Kyle Bronson, and Garret Stewart at the front. Lap 4 saw Joe Watson, Jeff Bagent, Jamie Carter, Chris Northrup, David Moheng, and Scott Kurtzner spin in turn 1 bringing out the yellow. Back-and-forth racing was going on at the front, and on the restart while going down the backstretch, Jason Davis spun and as the field took evasive action, contact was made and a 7-car pile-up occurred. Included in the pile-up were Ivedent Lloyd, Jr., Ronald Soltis, Henry Hall, Scott Kurtzner, Michael Flick, Jim Smith, and Jim Passino. The re-start was a 9-lap run that was slowed by the spin of Joe Watson. As the leaders were right behind the spin they had to take evasive action and Jeff Mathews was hit in the left-front by the spinning Watson. Mathews ended his night at that point. A 7-lap run to the green watched Kyle Bronson lead Garret Stewart, Rich Pratt, Kyle Owen, and Jim Smith over the line. A birthday gift for the 21-year old Bronson to say the least.

The Amsoil V-8 Thunderstocks went to the clay next and gave the fans what they've come to expect- a rough battle for every position on the track. In the heat races the 3rd place man in points, Chris Watson, had a scary accident when his throttle stuck down the backstretch and went into the turn 3 wall near-head-on. Watson was okay after the night. In the feature, Mike Tovet and Chad Scranton quickly moved to the front leaving the rest of the field for 3rd. Coming out of turn 4, Jason Gamble found his 27G in the air as it barrelrolled multiple times. Luke Sadler and Brian Shea were involved but able to continue. Gamble quickly left the 27 and was holding his elbow which he cut. Gamble was okay and laughed about the accident by night's end. There was still a feature winner to be determined, however. On lap 13 Gordon Cade found his 121 sideways and the 4C of Richard Calmes ran out of racetrack and hit the 121. At the end Scranton was able to hold off Mike Tovet, while John Thorpe took 3rd, Jason Blackner in 4th, and Brian Mullins in 5th.

The Gladiators had an eventful feature, and on lap 6 the lapped car of Kody Fisher spun and collected the Christiansons, George and Reid, and Harold Lewis. On lap 9 the 77 of Michael Carr made it 3 flips on the night at Bubba Raceway Park. Carr climbed out on his own power and was okay after the accident. The restart gave Steve Cox another chance and he took it. Cox led the final 5 laps and beat Kevin Underwood, Reid Christianson, Harold Lewis, and Greg Boynge to take home the cool $1000.

Next week-end the Late Models return and will race with the Hobby Stocks, Amsoil V-8 Thunderstocks, Mini Stocks, and Gladiators. Gates open at 4:30 with racing at 7. Also, there is practice on Sunday, June the 12th from 12:00 to 6:00 for $10. For more information you can check out www.bubbaracewaypark.com or call the Speedway hotline.
